Sunday

Rain cooling pine trees.

A truck pulling off in the distance.

The song of a bird thanking God for the nourishment.

The hum of the air conditioner lulling the inhabitants to sleep.

Crow announcing the summer shower is his own and now it's time to fly again.

Children’s laughter floating on the breeze.

Sun pulling the shadows from the trees watching them grow long.

Car doors slam as people have a renewed feeling of energy.

Smiling at the foreshadowed memory of a vacation well lived.

Lazy Sunday afternoons are a precious gift we should open with joy.
